Workshop Description:
In this workshop you will learn the technique
of Marma Point stimulation (forerunner of acupuncture), as well
as the deep, flowing strokes and optional synchronized work
by two or more practitioners in traditional Eastern Indian Massage.
Both lecture and hands-on demonstration will be used. The technique
of Shirodhara (warm oil flowing on forehead) and integration
of specially formulated essential oils will be covered as well
as the use of lepas (Ayurvedic poultices). On Sunday, students
may come early to enjoy a half hour of meditation and some traditional
Vedic chanting.
Presenter Information:
Dr. Light Miller, N.D., D.D.- Light has over 35
years experience as a health practitioner. In addition
to providing private health consultations, she travels
extensively worldwide with her husband teaching
Ayurveda, Indian Ayurvedic Massage Therapy, aromatherapy,
herbology, meditation, chanting, tantra and goddess
workshops. She was the first woman ever trained
out of 18 practitioners of Kaya Kalpa in the world.
She and her husband, Bryan Miller, also provide
Pancha Karma treatments, a five-stage detoxification
program.
Light is a Board Member of the National Ayurvedic
Medical Association (NAMA) and member of the National
Association of Holistic Aromatherapists (NAHA),
California Association of Ayurvedic Medicine (CAAM),
and the National Association of Professional Women.
Light's Eastern heritage gives her a strong Ayurvedic background,
which connects her to the roots of Indian philosophy and healing.
Her mission is to create a greater global awareness of the science
of Ayurveda. T
